Poetry: Nemesis

Nemesis

Empty street, glass window

I saw myself,

My eyes, my lips

It was you, him, them

But it was not me.

I saw lights, houses and roads

Roads I roamed

I saw veins, green and blue

Like that night with you

We almost touched

But knew better

I saw red , orange and white

First fire and then ice

To soothe what didn’t need to be calmed

To burn what was already embers

The glass broke,

I couldn’t feel my heart anymore

I saw then what I couldn’t see before

Each shard, each facade

I saw gold, silver and black

I saw my lips and a smile

It all turned dark

A glimpse, a blur

Of everything

A glimpse, a blur

Of  nothing.
